It's not like they both haven't walked on this side of the road before, two wild girls like them – all lack of inhibitions and the need for thrill wrapped up under pretty hair, shiny clothes. It doesn’t hurt that they’re drunk, the taste of tequila thick in Carly’s mouth.
Sam’s jacket is flung over a lampshade, Carly’s shoes are a room apart. Tomorrow Carly will probably feel like stabbing herself in the head, and stabbing Sam too for good measure, but right now all the lights in her head are dim with alcohol and Sam is warm under her touch.
